That's right, there aren't many posts. We had a forum culling option enabled (by accident) and it erased almost all of general discussions posts. To make up for this ID 10 T error, we have a new screenshot displaying a feature we'll be adding to the game. Obviously there's a lot we're not saying, so we'll be at work on the additions for a while. Hang in there while we do- we think it'll be worth the wait.

Whoa... Those will certainly make dodging enemy fire a bit more interesting.

I think I would like that quite a lot Smile. Specially, if SOMEHOW you made it so larger ships can shoot like Asteroid nukes and blow them to hell, and you have to dodge them Very Happy, but make it so theres A LOT, but dodgeable. Man THAT would be AWSOME. Put in a cool shockwave thing (I have a thing for shockwaves).

We'll have to see about asteroids going boom... I'm not sure that'd work so well with every race, but just so you know, there are lots and they are easily avoidable.... if you're paying attention Wink

It's random, since it changes the gameplay quite a bit... and the larger ships really have trouble avoiding them.

I was lucky enough to see a demo of this over the weekend, and they certainly do "rock".

They look really good when they're moving, and the physics interactions are very neat. Flying through a field of these makes you feel just like Han Solo (except there's no screaming C3P0 in the background).

I hope that with these now in the game, you'll have a little sympathy and put in some measures to avoid making really long flight times. Usually they aren't too bad, but occasionally it takes several minutes to catch a straggling moder, or to get back to the pyrennes. It'll be an even bigger pain with asteroids.

That reminds me, will enemy ships coordinate themselves more in the new version, instead of taking the every man (alien) for himself approach?

Honestly, that wasn't something we considered, mainly because in the heat of battle it's half impossible to tell if it is 'everyone for themselves', or if there's some kind of coordinated attack going on. Also, against lots of tiny ships flying all over the place, it's quite difficult to coordinate an attack.

The long fly times will have to be addressed, however.
